Today, we woke up to a little Al-Qaida video treat.
Al-Qaida #2, Ayman al-Zawahri, referred to President-elect Barack Obama, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former Secretary of State Colin Powell as "house negroes." Please note that the only thing that have in common besides education, capability and black skin is...well...nothing.
Then in a "just so you don't think I am racist" move Al-Zawahri then praises Malcolm X as honorable. Um, really? Nice try.
I guess some people who think like Al-Zawahri, yes, too many of them brown, like their Blacks undereducated, underachieving, unequal and docile. Failing that, they like their Blacks dead (see Malcolm X reference) Nothing more docile than being dead!...Dead Blacks can't challenge your manipulation of their positions.
I'm glad this happened, for so many reasons....so many reasons...
Wonder how this will be handled in the media? Who will speak out against it? Or not...

I'm in the middle of a fast right now and I've been doing a lot of thinking, praying, and meditating. For a long time, I've wanted to do something special for a small group of friends and family that stuck by me through the most tragic and difficult time of my life. Matter of fact, the majority of this group of people has been by my side through all of the good and bad times. Some of the people on this list have known me their whole life, some for 12 years, some for 20 years, and a few are new family who I've known for a year or two.
I've been wanting to do something special for these people for awhile now. I couldn't really think of anything that would show the depths of my love and gratitude for them. I thought maybe I'd have a small dinner party and speak to each of them individually, lettting them know what it is that they've done for me and have meant to me. But it would take a miracle from God to get all of them in the same place at the same time LOL!!!
Anyway, I've been listenng to the new Jennifer Hudson cd (GO BUY IT NOW! It's incredible!) and I heard this song entitled, "You Pulled Me Through". To my great embarrassment and shock, I started crying in the parking lot of the grocery store as soon as I started listening to it LOL. It said everything that I've wanted to say to these people but couldn't find the words ... until now. So this is going to be bit of a long blog, but below you will find the lyrics to the song and then a little something about each person right after the lyrics end.

Alicia: What can I say man? I hurt you deeply,whether it was intentional or not, it was still hurt. I disappointed you and didn't allow you to be there for me during the worst part of my life. I walked away for all the wrong reasons. And you welcomed me back with open arms ... no questions asked. You have loved me despite all my faults and flaws. You put medicine on my wounds and helped put me back together. You taught me that I am capable of MORE, that I am beautiful, and that I am worthy. You continue, with patience, to show me that I AM your sister. I will always love and cherish you. My Sister, my Best Friend.
LaShaunn: WHEEEEW. I dont even know where to begin. When I was rockin those SUPER TIGHT acid wash jeans, thinking that they made me look like I had a butt like yours, you loved enough to say NO THEY DONT LOOOOL!! From the first day I met you, back when we were 15 and 16 years old, I've looked up to you and have always known that you were meant to be in my life. Last year when I was dying in every way a person can, and I was insisting on doing it alone, you said, "BITCH, don't make me get in my car and come and find you!! Cause when I DO find you, and I WILL, I am going to WHOOP YOUR ASS, and then bring you back to my house anyway!" LMAO!! You sat with me and hugged me when I was crying and funky. You prayed the death up off of me. You fought for me when I couldn't fight for myself. You have always been there... always been my strength in my weakness. You picked me up off the ground, dusted me off, and said "WE can do this. Now let's go." You have been a Sister to me in every way that counts. I love you beyond words, my Sister, my Best Friend.
Eve: You walked through the dirt and grime of my life and acted like it wasn't there. You kept my secrets of shame. You told me that I am capable of greatness and then gave me an opportunity to show that greatness. You always encourage me to be MORE. You have been my teacher in ways I cannot explain with words. You have helped to heal me and bring me back to life. You are my cheerleader, my Mentor, my friend, my family. You've sacrificed so that could have. You are amazing to me. You love me fiercely and protect me like a Mama Lion. I am so grateful for your presence in my life. I love you ALWAYS.
Solomon: You saw magic in me and stepped out on faith and allowed me to play a major role in your life. You trusted me with your secrets, problems, business, and life. You put it in my hands and said, "Run with it, Love." You showed me that perseverance through obstacles makes you a better person. You've shown me that there is beauty in struggle and that when you come out the other side of the fight, you are better for it. You shared your dream with me and made it my dream too. You inspire me to GREATNESS. You are not only my business partner but my friend... my brother. I love you and am SO proud of you. I believe in you and always will.
David: Abz, I was cleaning out my emails the other day, and I came across a whole bunch of emails from when we first met and I just had to smile! From the very beginning we were close. It was seemingly instant! I watch you and am blown away by the man that you are. When I was ready to give up, you believed in me and said I could do it. You constantly told me that I was talented and capable. You trusted me with your secrets and your career. And Im telling you, that there is NOTHING better in this world than when we would get on the phone and be gossiping and sharing stories LOL!!! You showed me kindness and friendship in a world that is full of fakeness and lies. You support me in everything that I do. I dont think Ive ever told you this before, but your belief in me is what made me stick to everything. Anytime I call you for advice, you're there to give it to me. Anytime I call you and ask you to donate your time and talent for some cause or another, you're answer is always, "Legz, you kno I'm down to do anything for you." You are a giving, honest, loving, and loyal man. You inspire me to be the best me I can be. I am SO sorry for the tremendous grief that you are going through right now. If I could take it from you and bare it for you, I would in an instant. I am praying for you day and night. I am honored to call you friend. Keep your head up. Im here anytime you need me.
Misfit: You are TRULY my Angel sent from God. From the moment we first spoke, we were tied at the hip. Our bond was instant! You have a heart made completely of LOVE. You inspire me to stay positive even through the worst of times. Your spirit shines brightly in this dark world. You share your life with me UNCONDITIONALLY! You trust me with your secrets, your career, your heart. You make an effort to include me every step of the way. You are my inspiration and my model of what TRUE friendship is. I am grateful for you EVERY DAY. I believe our adventure has just begun and the best is right around the corner. I LOVE YOU!!!
Uncle Donnie: From the minute you entered my life, you have loved me. ALL of me. When I showed up at your house earlier this year, you wrapped me in your arms and healed me with all of that love and encouragement. You have accepted me, not as your Niece, but as your Daughter and you healed someting inside of me because of that. You lift me up when I can't stand on my own. I love you more than you will ever know.
Sarah: My Cousin.... Cousin doesnt seem enough. You are my Angel. You were there during the worst of it. You loved me back to life. You send me texts that just say, "I LOVE YOU" and you have no idea what that does for me. You are incredibly loving and supportive and I couldn't ask for a better Cousin. When I had to give my Puppies up, you took them and gave them a home so that I wouldn't be worried. That meant more to me than I could ever say. During a time in my life when I was losing everything, you stepped up and did what you could to take anything off my plate that you could. I appreciate you and am SO proud of the wife and mother you are. I love you madly.
The Alva Family: When you heard what was going on, you got in your car and drove down to make sure that I was okay. Steve, you showed me that there is no weakness in asking for help, there is only weakness is NOT asking for it. Youve been there for me since I was born... allowed me to be your sidekick LOL! Steve and Steph for life. Tracie, your sweet spirit and overwhelming love and acceptance amaze me. Thank you for trusting me as the God Mother of your children. It is the greatest gift I've ever recieved. To my God Children, Jasmine and Steve, Jr., thank you for your unconditional love. You love me whether Im "famous or regular" hahahah and I love you for that.
GNa-D: Thank you for your neverending support and love. Thank you for being concerned for my well being, not because Im "Licious" but because you are genuinely concerned for me. Your friendship is a blessing!!!
Last but certainly not least, Angelina: Thank you for teaching me the meaning of faith. You are amazing to me on more levels than one. Thank you for praying me through the worst of it and always believing the best for me. When I hid in my sickness, you waited patiently, leaving me voicemails just to say you loved me and missed me. All you want is ME and that humbles and inspires me. Thank you for trusting me as the God Mother to your 2 beautiful children. You gave me the opportunity to know what Motherhood is and for that, I am forever grateful. I love you!!
I hope that this blog will inspire you all to tell your loved ones how you feel. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Take the time to make sure that they know how you feel TODAY.
